Important information: Accommodation, remuneration and visa
As you are working on a voluntary basis, the projects are not remunerated in monetary terms. The reason for this is that the projects are primarily sustained by donations and the commitment of volunteers.
You therefore do not need to apply for a special visa, but can enter the country with a regular tourist visa.

General conditions for work and travel
With Work and Travel, you don't receive traditional pay either, but work in exchange for discounted accommodation and, if applicable, meals.
You will therefore be provided with accommodation and, depending on the project, meals.
The background: the wage level in Latin America is significantly lower than in Europe and generally does not cover the cost of living for a month.
You therefore do not need to apply for a special visa, but can enter the country with a regular tourist visa.
