YOUR TASKS
Take a look behind the scenes! An internship abroad in a hotel is ideal for students and trainees with a focus on hotel management, tourism, gastronomy or another specialized course of study / training. In order to gain a foothold and succeed in the hotel industry, it is essential to have work experience and to be familiar with the different areas and all processes. Therefore, it is common that you as an intern or young professional often go through different departments of a hotel. In this way, you can gain an overview, make connections and perhaps even find out for yourself which area of work appeals to you the most. Even if you want to climb the career ladder – especially as a future general manager of a hotel, it is important to gain experience in all areas of the hotel industry.
This is exactly why our participants take on various positions during their time abroad. This is the only way to guarantee a comprehensive insight into the industry. Of course, the trainees’ previous professional experience, level of education and language skills also play a role here.
The following work areas are possible for your internship:
Front office
Back office
Guest Commerce
Entertainment
Food & Beverage / Service
Housekeeping
Hotel Management

Our Hotels
Our partner hotels are located in the largest tourist region in Mexico, the Riviera Maya (Playa del Carmen, Tulum and Akumal), in the colonial city of San Cristóbal de las Casas and the metropolis of Guadalajara. These are resorts, club hotels and boutique hotels, all of which have high standards and excellent reviews.
In order to guarantee the quality of the internships we offer, we have personally visited all our partner hotels and are constantly in close contact with the local managers. The standards of our hotels, e.g. in terms of working conditions and cleanliness, are very important to us. The satisfaction of our participants is our top priority. Through our large network in Latin America, we are in contact with a wide variety of hotels and locations. Thus, we can arrange the right workplace for each of our participants.

Riviera Maya
If you crave endless white beaches, crazy beach parties, and a hip and laid-back vibe, you’ll find your happiness in the Riviera Maya. The region is full of backpackers from all over the world and has a lively bar and restaurant scene. The coolest hostels and most beautiful beaches are waiting for you. Made for an unforgettable work and travel adventure. You can find more information here.
For more information on the Riviera Maya, see here.

San Cristobal de las casas
The colorful colonial city of San Cristóbal in the northern state of Chiapas enchants visitors with its cobblestone streets, many markets and Mexican charm. The city’s cuisine is considered one of the best in Mexico and the many street festivals are a special experience. Many indigenous peoples live in the surrounding area and sell their handicrafts. The Mayan city of Palenque can be reached in about 5 hours.
For more information about San Cristóbal, see here.

Guadalajara
Guadalajara is probably the most typical Mexican city. This is probably due on the one hand to its excellent Mexican cuisine and on the other hand to the national drink tequila, which has its origin in the region. Guadalajara is the second-largest metropolis in the country, and with its 6 million inhabitants is located about 500 km west of the capital Mexico City. It is separated from the Pacific coast with its breathtaking beaches by 2 hours. The surrounding mountains also invite to excursions.

REQUIREMENTS
The internship abroad in the hotel sector is particularly aimed at students and trainees with a focus on hotel management, tourism, gastronomy or another subject-related course of study / training. This prior knowledge increases the chances of success for an internship position, but is not mandatory for participation. Depending on experience, the areas of responsibility may vary.
For a successful internship in the hotel you should have the following qualities:
You are open to new experiences, people and cultures
You are communicative and like dealing with people from all over the world
You are flexible and able to work under pressure
You are a team player and have organizational skills
You shine with a confident and well-groomed appearance towards guests, superiors and employees
You speak English and already have basic knowledge of Spanish
LANGUAGE
The national language of our target countries is Spanish. In order to communicate with your colleagues and the guests, knowledge of English and Spanish is a prerequisite. If you have little knowledge of Spanish, it is obligatory to attend a basic Spanish course at the beginning of your internship. We will gladly organize this course for you.
ACCOMODATION
Your accommodation during your internship is taken care of. This is included in the program price. There are different options, which vary depending on the country, location and hotel.
On the one hand, you can be accommodated in the hotel itself and live directly at your workplace. Most of the time you will live together with colleagues, with whom you will quickly become friends. Or you can live in a shared apartment near your workplace. Here you can explore your new temporary home in your free time and discover the country through the eyes of a local.
