The WanderWorld Team

The realization of your adventure

Line

Latin America is our passion. This is what unites us as the WanderWorld Travel team - we were born there, live or have lived there, know and love the countries and call them our (second) home. We have shared this passion since 2018 and have already supported over 1,500 participants on their own personal journey. Personal contact with our participants is particularly important to us. We look forward to getting to know you and accompanying you on your adventure! On this page you can get to know our team in Germany and Latin America and find out more about your contact person.

Sophia Fink

FOUNDER AND MANAGING DIRECTOR

Sophia is the founder of WanderWorld Travel. She advises our participants on their program selection and looks after them before and during the trip. She has personally selected our programs. On her annual trips through Latin America, she visits our partner projects and establishes new collaborations.

Sophia founded WanderWorld Travel after a long journey through several countries in Latin America, which she undertook after her law studies. You can find out more about our founding story here.

More about Sophia

"Traveling for several months allows young people to broaden their horizons and think outside the box. From my own experience, I know that living together with people from a different culture gives you the opportunity to change your perspective, question your familiar thought patterns and develop enormously as a result. The cultural exchange is not only a benefit for you, but also for the local people and often results in intensive friendships."

Amanda Olschewski

On-site advice and support

Amanda takes care of the travel registration and travel preparations for our participants. She is your direct contact person during your travel time and takes care of all your wishes on site. After completing her Bachelor's degree in tourism, she has been working at WanderWorld since 2023.

During her studies, she spent a semester abroad in Peru and traveled to many other South American countries. Peru in particular aroused her passion.

More about AManda

"What fascinates me is the lively and spirited culture, which expresses itself particularly through dance, music and a sense of community. I have had the opportunity to travel through countries such as Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Chile, Argentina and Brazil. My tip for young travelers would be to embrace the openness and spontaneity of the locals and the country's processes rather than sticking to the familiar from home. It's a wonderful experience to see life from a less difficult perspective."

Alejandro Rodriguez

PROJECT COORDINATOR and on-site support

Ale is responsible for cooperation with our projects on site. He ensures that there is a constant exchange and is your direct contact person when you are on the road. Together with Amanda, he will support you if you have any questions or concerns along the way.

He studied history at the University of San Carlos in Guatemala and worked as a sales representative for a Canadian company for three years before deciding to turn his love of travel into a career in 2022. He has traveled extensively in both Latin America and Europe and is particularly fascinated by Colombia.

More about Alejandro

"I was born in Guatemala City and spent my childhood there. But for many years I have called the enchanting city of Antigua my home. Guatemala is a country full of history and cultural treasures, and I love being a part of it. What do I particularly appreciate about Guatemala? Definitely the people. The Guatemalans are incredibly nice and hospitable. My tip for young travelers: live in the moment and feel the beauty of this country in all its facets!"

Marina Mayer

Advice and travel preparation

Marina takes care of all your questions, advises you on the program selection and takes care of your travel coordination. She has already worked for NGOs on several continents, mainly within social projects and environmental protection, but Latin America in particular has won a part of her heart forever.

After completing her Bachelor's degree in Cultural and Social Anthropology, she traveled to several countries in South America and moved to Peru. It was only with a heavy heart that she left her new home for her Master's degree in International Development Cooperation - but her deep connection to Latin America has never been severed.

More about Marina

"Nothing has shaped me as beautifully and intensely as the experiences and encounters I have been able to gather on my travels. A glimpse into other worlds and realities gives you the gift of understanding how much more there is to experience and discover. In Latin America, for me this means impressive landscapes, untouched nature and a variety of animals and creatures (yes, sometimes primarily mosquitoes! 😉). On the other hand, it means beautiful people and unforgettable moments that I would never want to miss. They have made me who I am today."

Celine Krone

Online Marketing

Celine takes care of our social media channels, especially our Instagram presence (be sure to check it out! 😉). She designs creative content and ensures that our community is always well informed.

During her Bachelor's degree in International Tourism Management, Celine had the opportunity to study in Mexico and work in Ecuador. She has also traveled to many other countries in Latin America and discovered her passion for the region. She is currently in her Master's program in Sustainable Tourism Management, which she is completing in Sardinia.

More about Celine

"Traveling through countries like Costa Rica, Ecuador, Guatemala, Colombia, Mexico and Panama has enriched my life in a wonderful way. In each of these countries, I experienced the warmth of the people and the unique culture, which left a deep impression on me. The spontaneous encounters and unforeseen experiences taught me to look at life with more lightness and openness. I have made friends for life and created memories that will shape my life forever. These trips have shown me how valuable it is to live life light-heartedly and with an open heart."

Andreas Schneider

Network expansion in Asia

Andreas is working on building a partner network in South East Asia - so that projects can soon be offered in this exciting region and you have the opportunity to experience these diverse countries! He has already lived in Asia and Southeast Asia and worked for projects in international development cooperation. Most recently, he coordinated a student exchange with universities in Indonesia.

During and after his geography studies, he worked on ecosystem and resource protection issues and supported projects in these areas in Thailand and India. Through the many trips, encounters and cooperation with the local people, he developed a strong passion for the region.

More about Andreas

"During my travels, the direct exchange with the local population, whether through collaboration or during chance encounters, had the most lasting impact on me. Getting to know new ways of life and the resulting change of perspective were wonderful experiences for me, enabling me to understand a culture and reality of life that is not my own. Personal development on the one hand and intensive friendships on the other were the results of my stays. What fascinates me most about the countries of Asia and Southeast Asia is the incredible cultural and religious diversity, the breathtaking nature, the vibrant metropolises and the warm and open people. There is an incredible amount to discover and experience everywhere - so the region is definitely always worth a trip!"
