About Event Management

Event management is a very versatile field and aims to organize events of various kinds. On the one hand, it involves using events of any kind to promote the sales of products and services, as well as to strengthen the reputation of the company. On the other hand, it can involve the organization of purely private events. The task of an event manager is to organize the event and ensure that it runs smoothly. Various elements can be used in the context of events, for example from the areas of show, art, culture, and sports.

Benefits of the internship

With an internship in event management, you can already try out before or during your studies whether the practice matches your expectations. In particular, you can put your organizational skills to the test and learn to work under pressure. You will also become a master in solving problematic situations. Because at an event, there will always be something that doesn’t go according to plan. Your creativity and spontaneity will be needed to save the day.

Tasks

As an event manager, your tasks are wide-ranging. You oversee an event from conception, through organization, to execution and ensuring that everything runs smoothly. You create a vision of the event as well as a budget. When it comes to the concrete planning phase, you communicate a lot with external providers such as catering or audio and video technology. It is also important to be on site at the location. During your internship in event management, you will assist in defining and developing the communication plan of each event as well as managing photos, videos, teasers, etc. During the actual event, you will need to keep a cool head and be able to react in stressful situations. Because a smooth flow is the goal of all your work.

Internship Event Management, Mexico

In Mexico, you will work in event agencies that specialize in organizing private or corporate events. Mexican families like to celebrate on a grand scale, which is why they hire agencies for their weddings, baptisms, and birthdays to prepare and execute their event. For example, you can work at a wedding planner and organize dream weddings or at a number of other event agencies.

Internship Event Management, Peru

You will have the unique opportunity to participate in the organization of the largest alternative festival in Peru. In the past nine years they have attracted more than 50,000 people. In doing so, you will be able to develop skills in the organization of events and discover local and national cultural riches. All this in a young and dynamic international team.

You will carry out your daily tasks in the Lima office. Before the events, you may have field assignments in Oxapampa.

Internship Event Management, Guatemala

In Antigua, you can complete your internship in event management with a children’s aid organization that provides education for disadvantaged children. The organization has two elementary school and one secondary school, which accommodates over 500 Guatemalan children.

School and extracurricular events take place there on a regular basis, and you can play an active role in planning and organizing them.

Mexiko City

Mexico City is the political, economic, social and cultural center, as well as the largest transportation hub in the country. The city consists of 16 districts, in which there is an extraordinary amount to discover. You will find artist districts with many students, nice bars, restaurants, shopping miles with great stores and and and. But despite the enormous size, there are many quiet corners, beautiful parks and the city is extremely green. Mexico City has the largest museum density in the world. Especially the famous museum of Frida Kahlo and the Anthropological Museum should not be missed. Just outside the city lies Teotihuacan, a historical site from the pre-Hispanic period.

Guadalajara

Guadalajara is probably the most typical Mexican city. This is probably due to its excellent Mexican cuisine and the national drink Tequila, which has its origin in the region. You can take an old train to the city of “Tequila”, 40 minutes away, and visit the agave plantations and distilleries. Guadalajara is the second-largest metropolis of the country and with its 6 million inhabitants is located about 500 km west of the capital Mexico City. It is 2 hours away from the Pacific coast with its breathtaking beaches. The surrounding mountains also invite to excursions.

Lima

Lima is the city of kings and a diverse capital. You will stay in the central and modern Miraflores, just a few meters from the beautiful Malecon (the coastal promenade). Here you can take endless walks, watch the surfers or go jogging and attend yoga sessions – with an impressive view over the Pacific Ocean a dream.

Numerous restaurants, bars, shopping and cultural activities are just around the corner. In Miraflores, you have all the luxury of a western metropolis and at the same time colonial Latin American flair. Thus, Lima is the perfect starting point for your work and travel adventure. Party lovers will also get their money’s worth here. No matter what kind of music you like, there is something for everyone. Another advantage is that it never really gets cold in Lima. Nevertheless, the summer months (from November to March) are preferable to explore the city in the sunshine.

You can find more information about Lima here.

Antigua

Antigua is made for a work and travel adventure and makes the heart of every backpacker beat faster. Not only the beauty of the city and the surrounding nature make the city so popular. Above all, it is the flair that prevails here. Antigua is a magnet for young people from all over the world – many, who have traveled here once, stayed right there. The owners of the countless restaurants, cafés, bars, and hostels come from all over the world, so it is correspondingly international. In the bars you can hear 1,000 different languages, and you quickly made new friends all over the globe.

Besides the work in the project, Antigua offers many opportunities for colorful leisure activities. Climbing the surrounding volcanoes is an experience you will probably never forget. Equally worthwhile is a weekend trip to Lake Atitlan.
