In general, the course is more of an internship than a normal diving course. You will work with the instructors, divemasters and office staff to learn all aspects of running a dive center. From selling courses and dive trips, to welcoming guests, filling out forms, finding the right equipment, preparing the boat and briefing participants. Of course, this also includes the maintenance of diving equipment. The team is also happy to provide support with social media activities.
Our Diving school on the Caribbean coast of Colombia is run by an Austrian woman who, a few years ago emigrated to Colombiato devote her life entirely to her great passion, the Divingto dedicate itself to diving. It offers a wide range of courses, for certified and non-certified divers, for Beginners and professionals. The school has its headquarters in the fishing village of Tagangaa small paradise. The unbeatable advantage of this location is its proximity to the Tayrona National Parkwhere daily diving excursions start.
The PADI program is designed to train you from a beginner with no previous experience to a professional dive guide. It consists of a seamless training plan that builds on each other:

PADI OPEN WATER COURSE
The PADI Open Water Diver course is the first level of training in recreational diving. You will learn basic diving theory, practice using equipment on land and in shallow water and make four open water dives. After completing this course, you will be certified to dive to 18m/60ft and you will have a lifetime certification to explore a whole new world.
PADI ADVANCED OPEN WATER COURSE
The PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course is the second level of training for recreational divers. The focus is on improving your confidence and skills as a diver. You will expand your knowledge with in-depth theory and five open water dives with different focuses.
For each dive you have to learn the relevant theory, which is also tested.
PADI RESCUE DIVER COURSE
This course is designed to prepare you to solve problems under pressure and give you all the knowledge you need to recognize and deal with difficult situations. You will learn to avoid problems before they actually occur.
The Rescue Diver course builds on your existing skills. After three days of intensive training in the classroom and in the water, you will have expanded your knowledge of diving and improved your diving skills. This training can help you save lives and prepares you to respond appropriately to diving emergencies.
EMERGENCY FIRST RESPONDER COURSE (FIRST AID COURSE)
The Emergency First Response (EFR) course, also known as the first aid course, teaches you emergency medical procedures and gives you the confidence to provide help in an emergency. The course is divided into theoretical and practical parts and is completed in one day. If you have already completed a certified first aid course in the last 2 years, you do not have to repeat it on site.
The skills you learn can be used in any field. You will learn the necessary theory by means of a book and video and you will apply this knowledge in practice during the course. The theoretical part includes a final multiple-choice exam.
Taganga is a small fishing village on the beautiful Caribbean coast of Colombia, around 5 km north of Santa Marta. Here you will find a great beach and many trendy restaurants, cafés and stores along the main street. Taganga has developed considerably in recent years and is now known as a paradise for relaxing and a fantastic place to learn to dive at a reasonable price. The village is located right next to one of Colombia's natural wonders and highlights - the Tayrona National Park. It is full of tropical forests and breathtaking beaches. It only takes a few minutes to get there by boat. And best of all, the national park not only offers breathtaking nature, but also some of the most unique diving spots in the world.
The training combines in-depth theory with intensive practice - both in the water and in the classroom. So that you are prepared from day one, you will receive the PADI e-learning material before the course starts.
Important: The theoretical part must at least 2-3 days before the start be started and prepared.
You will also need the following basics:
The national language in Colombia is Spanish. A basic knowledge of Spanish is required for the project. As the owner of the diving school is from Austria, you can even speak German with her. However, to really get to know the country and the people, we recommend that you take a Spanish course. We will be happy to organize this for you.
You will stay in a shared room at the diving school in Taganga. The diving school's accommodation is located right next to the school and just 20 meters from the beach, in a quiet area that is centrally located in the town. From there, shopping facilities, restaurants and cafés are within walking distance. The accommodation is equipped with cozy communal areas, such as an inner courtyard and a roof terrace.
There you will live in a 6-bed room together with other volunteers and guests. The rooms are equipped with Wi-Fi, lockers and a shared bathroom. You also have access to a shared kitchen.
Single rooms are available on request and at an extra charge.
