Our aid projects in Panama

You don't just want to travel, you want to leave your mark?
More than tropical rainforests and endless coastlines await you in Panama: become part of our volunteer projects and get involved in improving the future prospects of children and young people. Together with other volunteers, you will support educational initiatives in local communities, strengthen social projects and grow beyond yourself.

Experience how fulfilling it is when your time and energy bring about real change and discover the special Panamanian way of life: warm, lively and deeply connected with people and nature.

Children's aid projects

In Panama, too, many children still do not have reliable access to education. This makes it all the more important to have facilities and social projects that support regular School lessons or provide the children with meaningful leisure activities.

In close cooperation with committed volunteers these organizations are committed to supporting the country's youngest inhabitants. Through creative learning opportunities, personal attention and targeted education. Environmental protection and nature conservation also play a major role here: the children learn at an early age how valuable Panama's unique nature is and how they can actively contribute to its protection.

Social projects in Panama

Unfortunately, social projects in Panama receive hardly any state support and are therefore heavily dependent on donations and the help of committed volunteers.

You too can support these important initiatives with your voluntary service: Whether you support children in a Teaching project teaching, organize leisure activities or get involved in the Environmental education for children and adults. Your help is needed and appreciated.

In addition to your project work, you will of course also have time to explore the country: Hikes through the jungle, encounters with exotic wildlife or relaxing days on palm-fringed beaches.

We help you find the right project so that your trip not only changes you, but also leaves something behind.

Enjoy the taste

Panama is not only a country of natural wonders, but also an insider tip for anyone who enjoys discovering new flavors. The Panamanian cuisine is as diverse as the country itself: It unites Latin American, Caribbean, African and indigenous influences and brings fresh, authentic dishes to the plate.
Whether Grilled fish straight from the Pacific, spicy Coconut rice dishes on the Caribbean coast or Yuca, plantains and corn fritters in the highlands. In Panama, the food is hearty, fresh and full of flavor. Typical dishes such as Sancocho (a hearty chicken stew), Tamales (stuffed corn leaves) or Ropa Vieja (long braised beef) reflect the cultural diversity of the country.

On the colorful Markets you can discover tropical fruits that you may never have tried before: Chirimoya, guanábana, nance or passion fruit which are perfect for fresh juices or just for snacking.
And of course, coffee is also a must: Panama is one of the most renowned coffee-growing countries in the world. Especially the Geisha coffee from Boquete has won international awards and is highly sought after by connoisseurs.

Whether in a simple roadside cookshop or in a small family restaurant: in Panama, you don't just eat well, you eat well. with heart and soul.

Biodiversity

Panama is not only the narrow link between North and South America, it is also an important hotspot for biodiversity. It is estimated that over 10,000 plant species, more than 1,000 bird species and numerous rare animal species that have long since disappeared elsewhere. The unique location between two continents makes the country a real biological hub, where the animal and plant worlds of both hemispheres intermingle.

Particularly impressive: the dense rainforests and cloud forests of Panama are home to rare animals such as the Geoffroy's spider monkeythe Harpy eaglethe Panama gold frog, ocelots, anteaters, toucans and jaguars. The remote Darién region is one of the least explored areas of the continent and probably still harbors many undiscovered species.
Thanks to numerous National parks, marine protected areas and environmental initiatives are already around 30 % of the land area under protection. However, biodiversity remains threatened by illegal logging, poaching and climate change.

Paradise beaches? Panama has them!

And this is confirmed not only by travel magazines, but also by everyone who has ever been here. With its location between Pacific and Caribbean Panama offers an impressive variety of beaches ranging from Wild and remote up to gently curving bays with turquoise water.

What makes Panama special? Many beaches are natural and far away from mass tourism. Instead of hotel castles you will find Palm trees, tranquillity and the pure feeling of freedom. After your volunteer service, you can end the day by the sea, listen to the sound of the waves and recharge your batteries under a palm tree.

No matter whether you are Surf the Pacific or at the Snorkeling the Caribbean coast - Panama always shows its most beautiful side. On beaches like in Bocas del Toro, on the San Blas Islands or in Santa Catalina untouched nature and spectacular sunsets await you.

With a little luck, you might even spot colorful macaws, capuchin monkeys or iguanas, that cavort near the beaches.

Digital reset in Panama? Few places are better suited for this.

Between tropical rainforests, remote islands and endless beaches, Panama is the perfect place to escape the constant digital noise. No constant beeping, no to-do lists, just you, nature and the here and now.

Especially places like the San Blas Islands, more remote corners of Bocas del Toro or the little surf paradise Santa Catalina invite you to consciously put your cell phone away. Wi-Fi is often a minor matter here and that's exactly what makes it so appealing. Instead of scrolling through feeds, you can feel the sand under your feet, hear the rain pattering on palm leaves or watch the starry sky in a way you would never see it in the city.

Whether you're hiking through the jungle, meditating or doing yoga on the beach or talking to locals - you'll realize how good it feels to be truly present.
